Scar Contracture of the Abdomen*

Procedure Details

Middle aged female, who had emergency abdominal surgery; had trouble with wound closure; ended up needing a wound VAC and was left with a large mid abdominal scar that was adherent to the underlying fascia. This was causing the patient pain and making it difficult to exercise. The scar was excised and released. The patient was left with a now pain free scar and a more aesthetically pleasing scar.
